Camp Reveal July 2011

Camp Reveal was an awesome time with 12 youth group students, Joe, myself and Lucy. We felt like the Duggers, we were the mom and dad with our 13 kids in the back! :)
The heat index down in Evansville was 120 degrees, so Lucy and I had to stay inside most of the time, but the kids were outside, drenched in sweat playing games, riding horses, swimming in the lake that was as hot as bath water, etc....
This camp is for kiddos from all different backgrounds and home situations and our youth group kids go there as counselors. It's a really good experience for them, though hard and challenging, they come away having learned and grown a lot.
The trailer pulling our luggage got a flat on the way there and on the way home....so had a crazy time stranded for a few hours and were welcomed into the home of a wonderful family who kept us cool in there home and ordered us pizzas. Amazing! God was good and we arrived safely home around 12:30 a.m.
Here are some photos of our time there:

High School Camp June 2011

Summer camp this year was a "west coast tour" along the coast of Michigan with stops at the beach, stayed at the Chapel in St. Joe (the 3 of us stayed at my parents:)) and at a VanKampen home in Grand Haven. Weather was iffy, but had a great time nonetheless and it was awesome being able to stay in homes! :)
The kids love holding Lucy and taking pics of her, which of course I appreciate! :)
Also Lucy had her first swim in the VanKampen pool house and it was a success, she loves water!

Memorial Day

We wanted to do something fun or different for our memorial day and though we wanted to set out for an adventure to the Mississippi river after reading the adventures of huck finn together (Joe would read to me while I would feed Lucy in our first 2 months or so with her), we figured it was probably a little far with the girlie.
SO, instead we ventured to the Rock River in Oregon, IL.
It was a fun trip, packed a lunch, ate overlooking the river, Lucy LOVED laying there staring up at the trees. Leaves are her favorite. Well, leaves and ceiling fans :)
The people there were so friendly and being by the river was very relaxing - it was also a beautiful drive. we love the country!
Here are a few photos from our time there:

May 2011

Here are LOTS of photos of our growing but still teeny girl :)
She has been sleeping real well and is such a happy, always kicking and moving baby. We bring her with us everywhere and have had such a ball with her. And I'm so thankful I can be home with this sweetie pie!

Some highlights of May have been our college TROOPS reunion 2011 at Erica's lake house, Lucy meeting her Aunt Kathy and Great Grandparents on the Mittelberg side & all the Troops including the current love of her life, Rudy, spending time with the Jones and Bubar families, Lucy's dedication to the Lord on my first official Mother's Day - And my mom and grandparents were there along with the Jones gang - very special!!
We've also been enjoying working on planting vegetables, flowers and perennials and fixing up our porches to be fun sitting areas for the mornings and evenings. SO looking forward to the summer days to come!!

Troops Reunion 2011! We had a great weekend together, despite the cold and rainy weather :( SO good to see everyone - we always have a blast catching up, playing games, watching a movie (assuming we can figure out the player...)!
Here are some photos - so fun to bring little Lucy this year and enjoyed introducing her to Rudy <3
